The Owens Corning Thermafiber® SAFB (Sound Attenuation Fire Blankets) Mineral Wool Insulation is a high-performance stone wool batt insulation designed to provide exceptional fire resistance, sound control, and thermal performance in commercial and residential wall, floor, and ceiling assemblies. Manufactured from mineral wool fibers, SAFB insulation is non-combustible and engineered to reduce airborne sound transmission while helping improve the fire resistance of rated assemblies.
Each batt measures 6" × 16" × 48", making it ideal for 6" steel stud framing and select wood stud applications. Each bundle contains 5 batts, covering 26.7 square feet, with 24 bundles per pallet. Thermafiber® SAFB is water repellent, mold resistant, and dimensionally stable, maintaining its performance throughout the life of the building. It is commonly specified in commercial offices, healthcare facilities, schools, hotels, multi-family housing, and institutional buildings where superior acoustic and fire performance are required.
