The corded drill that outlives the crews using it. No batteries to charge, no runtime to ration — plug it in and it makes torque all day.
Where this one earns its reputation is the drivetrain. Helical-cut, heat-treated steel gears in a metal gear housing, with double gear reduction bringing speed down to 0–850 RPM and turning it into low-end grunt. That's the speed range you want for large-diameter work: self-feed bits, hole saws, augers through joists. A high-RPM drill just burns bits on that kind of hole.
The 360° side handle is not optional equipment on a tool making this much torque. When a 2-1/8" self-feed bit grabs in a stud, the handle is what keeps the drill from turning into a wrench in your hands — set it wherever your body needs it for the cut you're making.
A two-finger rubber trigger spreads the load across your hand for the long pulls, and the 1/2" keyed chuck holds large shanks tighter than a keyless chuck will under torque. Chuck key and holder are included. Grounded three-wire plug.
At 4.2 lbs and 11-1/8" overall, it's manageable for a tool in this class.
