The lightest corded drill in the DeWalt line, and the one that doesn't wear you out.
At 3.55 lbs it's over a pound lighter than the pistol-grip DWD110K and DWD112 — the kind of difference you stop noticing on the first hole and appreciate on the two hundredth. For overhead work, ladder work, or a day of repetitive drilling, weight is the spec that actually determines how you feel at quitting time.
The 7-amp motor spins to 2,800 RPM, the fastest of the 3/8" corded drills. Speed is what you want for twist bits in steel and volume work in wood; it's not what you want for large-diameter bits, so this is a small-hole tool by design. It handles 1" spade bits and 1-1/8" hole saws in wood, 3/8" twist bits in steel.
The keyed chuck is the trade-off. Slower bit changes than keyless, but stronger retention on smooth shanks — and nothing to wear out. If your bits slip in keyless chucks, or the drill lives in one place doing one job, keyed is the better answer. Chuck key included.
A lock-on switch is the other fatigue feature and an underrated one: for sustained drilling or wire-wheel and mixing work, you set it and stop squeezing. The variable-speed trigger gives you control for starting holes without the bit walking.
Good fit for maintenance techs, assemblers, shops, and anyone who wants a light, fast, dependable drill that's always plugged in and ready.
