Plasti-Fab PlastiSpan® 40 EPS Insulation Board – 2" × 24" × 48" (12 Boards/Bundle)

Item Code: 2X2X4-4

The Plasti-Fab PlastiSpan® 40 EPS Insulation Board is a high-density expanded polystyrene (EPS) rigid insulation board engineered for applications requiring higher compressive strength and dependable long-term thermal performance. Manufactured from closed-cell Type 2 EPS, PlastiSpan® 40 provides a nominal R-value of 4.0 per inch, making it an excellent choice for below-grade insulation, under concrete slabs, foundation walls, plaza decks, and other load-bearing construction applications. Its lightweight design allows for easy handling and installation while helping reduce thermal bridging and improve building energy efficiency. (plastifab.com)

Each board measures 2" × 24" × 48", covering 8 square feet per sheet. Each bundle contains 12 boards, providing a total coverage of 96 square feet. PlastiSpan® 40 resists moisture absorption, maintains dimensional stability, and delivers reliable insulation performance throughout the life of the building. This product is a Special Order item and is sold by the bundle with no returns.

PlastiSpan 40 insulation is a closed cell expanded polystyrene (EPS) insulation that meets or exceeds the requirements of CAN ULC S701.1, Standard for Thermal Insulation, Polystyrene, Boards and Pipe Covering. PlastiSpan 40 insulation closed cell structure resists water absorption (less than 2% water absorption) so it will retain its R-value even in applications where severe temperature differentials occur.

PlastiSpan 40 insulation provides a minimum compressive resistance of 276 kPa (40 psi). The high compressive resistance makes it ideal for use in applications where heavy loads are expected such as low temperature freezer floor or highway construction. Due to its high compressive strength, PlastiSpan 40 insulation resists compressive creep and fatigue to deliver specified compressive resistance on the long term.
