The Plasti-Fab PlastiSpan® EFS Type 1 EPS Insulation Board is a lightweight, closed-cell expanded polystyrene (EPS) insulation board designed for Exterior Finish Systems (EIFS), continuous insulation, and a variety of above-grade building envelope applications. Manufactured from moulded Type 1 EPS, this rigid insulation provides a long-term thermal resistance of R-3.75 per inch, helping improve energy efficiency while reducing thermal bridging in residential and commercial construction.

Each board measures 2" × 24" × 48", covering 8 square feet per sheet. Each bundle contains 12 boards, providing a total coverage of 96 square feet. The closed-cell EPS construction resists moisture, maintains its insulating performance over the life of the building, and is easy to cut and install. PlastiSpan® EFS is manufactured to meet CAN/ULC-S701.1 Type 1 requirements and is CCMC listed for use in Canadian construction.

PlastiSpan EFS insulation used in EIFS applications covers the outside of the building so that the structure is isolated from the wide temperature fluctuations of the climate. This reduces expansion and contraction of the structure and stabilizes interior temperatures. When using PlastiSpan EFS insulation in EIFS applications it provides a complete exterior blanket of insulation in a simpler manner than application of insulation on the interior.
