The Owens Corning Thermafiber® RainBarrier® Mineral Wool Continuous Insulation Board is a premium rigid mineral wool insulation designed for continuous exterior insulation, ventilated rainscreen systems, and cavity wall assemblies. Manufactured from non-combustible mineral wool, RainBarrier® provides outstanding thermal performance, exceptional fire resistance, superior sound attenuation, and excellent moisture management. Engineered for commercial, institutional, multi-family, and high-performance residential buildings, it helps improve energy efficiency while supporting durable and fire-resistant wall systems.
Each board measures 3" × 16" × 48" and provides a nominal R-value of 12.6. The semi-rigid boards are water repellent while remaining vapor permeable, allowing wall assemblies to dry effectively and reducing the potential for trapped moisture. Each bundle contains 6 boards, covering 32 square feet, with 15 bundles per pallet for a total pallet coverage of 480 square feet. Thermafiber® RainBarrier® insulation contributes to fire-rated wall assemblies while enhancing the acoustic performance of exterior building envelopes.
Thermafiber RainBarrier HD is a high density board with a consistent 6.0 pcf density throughout the entire thickness of the product.
