The Owens Corning Thermafiber® SAFB (Sound Attenuation Fire Blankets) Mineral Wool Insulation is a high-performance mineral wool batt insulation designed to provide exceptional sound attenuation, fire protection, and thermal performance in residential, commercial, and institutional wall, floor, and ceiling assemblies. Manufactured from non-combustible mineral wool fibers, SAFB insulation effectively reduces airborne sound transmission while contributing to fire-rated wall assemblies. It is an ideal solution for offices, schools, hospitals, hotels, multi-family housing, and other projects where acoustic comfort and fire safety are priorities.
Each batt measures 3-1/2" × 24" × 48", making it ideal for 2" × 4" wood or steel stud walls with 24" on-center framing. Each bundle contains 8 batts, covering 64 square feet, with 16 bundles per pallet for a total pallet coverage of 1,024 square feet. Thermafiber® SAFB is naturally water repellent, vapor permeable, mold resistant, and dimensionally stable, maintaining its performance without sagging or settling over time.
